LeEco has been busy this year building out their business and positioning themselves for success in markets outside of China, notably the U.S. market. Earlier this year they cut the ribbon on a new headquarters facility in San Jose for their U.S. operations. That was followed by their purchase of Vizio for $2 billion over the summer. Putting these pieces together means LeEco is now ready to make a big splash in the U.S. market, just in time for the 2016 holiday shopping season.
Earlier today invites went out from LeEco for their official U.S. launch. The event will be held in San Francisco on October 19th starting at 10:00 am Pacific Time. LeEco says their launch is about more than just screens, whether they be televisions or smartphones. Instead, the company is trying to build an entire “ecosystem model” that combines platform, content, devices and applications.
