The iPhone 6 took the world by storm when it was launched late last year. Collectively, the iPhone 6 and the 6 Plus took away a significant chunk of the Android device market share. And now with Samsung launching the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge, industry sources have started to wonder whether the Korean manufacturer has done enough to stop the behemoth that is the iPhone 6.
The answer will not be clear until the 10th of April when the smartphone is expected to be available in 20 countries around the world including the U.S. Initial response for the smartphone has been very positive, so Samsung is certainly hopeful that this is the game changer it so desperately needs at this time. And we think Samsung is right in assuming that given the amount of changes we've seen on the Galaxy S6.
For the first time since the Galaxy S3, Samsung has taken bold decisions with the design of the handset. Taking this into account, it's not really a surprise that the company spent more than ever on R&D. The Galaxy S6 packs an all metal design with a unibody enclosure, something we thought was limited to HTC and Apple devices.
The company has also made brave choices with regards to the processor, going with the home grown Exynos 7420 chip instead of the Snapdragon 810 which is expected to be used on all variants of the flagship. Of course, Samsung had its reasons to shy away from the Snapdragon 810, but it tells us that the company was not looking to sacrifice in terms of quality.
The list goes on and on really and Samsung has truly impressed everybody with the Galaxy S6, be it in terms of the camera or the cutting down of unnecessary TouchWiz bloatware. These factors tell us that the Galaxy S6 poses a serious threat to the Apple iPhone 6, although we feel the iPhone has already made significant damage to its Android rivals. The more important question that is upon Samsung is whether it will be able to continue on this path when the competition gets tougher later in the year with the likes of the LG G4 and the new breed of handsets break cover.
Do you think Samsung has done enough to make a comeback in the mobile industry? Sound off below.
Well, since in many ways the Nexus 4 beats the iPhone 6, um, I guess the short answer is HELL YEAH?!? LOL
ios is a waste of space

the specs beat iPhone hands down
There’s a sizable percentage of Apple customers who will stick with Apple if for no other reason that they don’t want to put any thought into it. In their case – no the S6 won’t compete with the iPhone 6. For others…hell yeah.
I prefer Android to iOs. Every few years I go to the phone store and look at one, just to see what has changed. I like being able to customize my phone to fit me, and what I do. Apple thinks I need to do things in certain ways. Sometimes they do make things work the way I think they should, other times not. Overall, I still prefer Android.
Quite frankly, I find it hard to care 2 cents worth about the difference in the appearance of today’s phones. Anyone who would look down at me because I carry an ugly phone isn’t someone I want as a friend. Once it is in a case, it will look like every other phone in that brand of case anyway.
“The Galaxy S6 packs an all metal design with a unibody enclosure”. Well that’s not accurate. It’s mostly glass actually. With an aluminum frame.
Apple makes their products VERY easy to use IF you just use their products. As such, someone who’s bought into the ‘simplicity’ of Apple will always continue to buy Apple as its just an easy answer. Give them your cash, they will give you something that works with little tinkering.
Yes they cost far more and you are paying a huge premium but their buyers dont usually care – they aren’t particularly technical and just want something simple that works. Especially with the iPhone 5 and lower, none of the iPhone users cared about the small screen because it just didn’t impact how they used the phone much because they weren’t heavy or power users.
Articles like this are retarded. They talk about how Apple ‘stole the market’ from Samsung by comparing Apples sales at the point JUST after their new release to Samsung’s towards the end of their yearly cycle when most people who would have bought one would have been waiting for the release of the S6.
Apple buyers will never move from Apple despite the ancient technology, cheap bendable body, and low res screen. They are programmed to buy anything Apple makes. But Samsung will take a much bigger segment of the modern Android market with these phones. They are far ahead of any Android device available
They are not “programmed”, they like it. Is that so difficult to understand?
They buy anything with that apple logo on it. They’re isheep.
100% truth.
I like phones with buttons and stuff…
