Android releases outpace Windows 7 Phone in Q4 4

The number of Android phones slated for release in Q4 of 2010 is greatly surpassing that of Windows Phone 7, which may be bad news for Microsoft according to some experts. Windows Phone 7 has a total of five devices headed to the ever expanding cell phone market, compared to the nearly one dozen Android offerings.

Analysts are predicting that Windows Phone 7 is going to have a difficult time stealing away some of the Android and iOS dominated market share not only because of this lack of offerings, but also because of price. Of the three models that have been given prices, all are currently $199.99 with a 2-year contact.

In contrast, several of the Android devices slated for release by the end of the year are under $100 dollars, which will appeal to consumers who don't want to spend a great deal of money, but would still like to enjoy the features of a smartphone.

However, some analysts are also predicting that Windows Phone 7 will sell better than some might expect. It seems that for now, we will have to wait and see how Microsoft's latest offering does with consumers.
