The official developer portal for US carrier Sprint has today announced that the HTC Hero will be the first Android device to run on the Sprint network.

The HTC Hero has for a long time been rumored to appear on the Sprint network, with reports last month that the handset was being tested internally at the wireless carrier.

Update: Sprint have now officially confirmed that the HTC Hero will be available from October 11th priced at $179 with a $100 mail-in rebate and a two-year Simply Everything plan.

This section provides access to tools, SDKs, developer documentation, sample source code, and technical How-To’s for building Android applications targeting Android powered devices available through Sprint.

Does anyone know whether this phone has the apps stored on the internal memory rather than the SD card? I saw that the G1 BARELY could accommodate the 1.5 update to Android so I’m wondering what kind of room the Hero has to expand for future releases..

First of all I’d like to say, great article! I’ve got a small question nagging me, I really love the theme of your site and tried to download the same design on my WP blog. However, there is some kind of weird php error in the sidebar. Do you have any tips, which settings are you using? Please PM me on Twitter @LovnLivin or per e-mail.

I’m extremely inspired along with your writing talents well with the structure in your blog. Is this a paid theme or did you modify it yourself? Anyway keep up the nice high quality writing, it is uncommon to see a nice blog like this one nowadays.
