HTC Hero Pink & Brown Models, T-Mobile UK Upgrades Now Available
UK mobile phone retailer The Carphone Warehouse are currently offering the HTC Hero for sale in Mocha brown and a rather bright pink finish.
Both models are available free as part of an 18-month £45 contract with Orange.
At present the HTC Hero is also available in an exclusive graphite finish on the Orange UK network, with T-Mobile expected to launch the handset later today (known as the G2 touch).
From what we've learnt so far existing T-Mobile customers are being given priority, with many customers already having confirmed their G2 Touch upgrade will be arriving by 1pm tomorrow.
The G2 Touch is expected to appear on the T-Mobile store later today for new customers, and in their high street stores later in the week.
The T-Mobile G2 Touch is now available from the online store.

When you say upgrades are you talking end of contract on other phones? I’ve been asking T-mobile’s twitter account about a G1 upgrade (bought only in November) and haven’t heard anything. I’m guessing it’s not happening, but just want to confirm.

Upgrades only got a 2 hour head start. I am a new customer and I’ll have mine before 1pm tomorrow too!

@Alex yes this is end of contract upgrades. I am not sure on T-mo’s policies on upgrades before the contract expires. No doubt you would have to pay a fee (usually the amount of months line rental left) if you wanted to upgrade to the G2 Touch.

I’m not seeing the G2 as an upgrade option online. Is that coming today or is it a case of phoning up for now? Does anyone know?

@Alex… one more thing. If you really did want to upgrade to the G2 Touch, I would suggest selling your G1 on Ebay and using that cash to settle your current contract, they are still selling well on Ebay and you probably wouldnt have to front up much cash, if any at all.

@Simon at the moment, its over the phone only. I imagine it will be on the website later on today or tomorrow. I would hurry though as the stock levels were already running low this morning.

Anyone have ideas of pricing of the handset, T-Mob UK have just confirmed the phone is coming soon and I am unable to order it.

@Gavin I ordered mine this morning for free on T-mo UK.
Devicewire have the white sim-free version in stock now.

@LeeCasey what contract/price plan?
July 28th, 2009 at 7:11 am
@Gavin, £35.00 p/m 700mins, unlimited texts and internet, free handset. (cant remember if that was 18 or 24 month now though. I think 18?)

I don’t understand why they wouldn’t bring the Hero to U.S.A.?
Anyone confirm?
