This morning tickets went on sale for the yearly Google I/O conference at 7AM PST, and just like in years past, tickets sold out in record time. Despite the price of admission being doubled this year to $900 for general admission, it only took around 23 minutes to sell out. When you compare this years sales to previous years, it took 90 days to sell out in 2009, 50 days in 2010, and only 59 minutes to sell out in 2011. Google's Vic Gundotra claims more than 6,250 queries per second hit the I/O sales servers the minute tickets went on sale this morning. It's clearly obvious more and more people are taking interest in the products that Google and Android are going to be showcasing for the upcoming year (that or unfortunately the free swag that has been given out in years prior).
Taking place from June 27th – 29th at the Moscone Center in San Fransico, Google I/O is the place to be to learn about all the awesome new things the company has in store for us. For those of you who were unable to secure a ticket have no fear. Talk Android will be live on scene, reporting all the details as it unfolds. So even though you are still $900 richer than those who landed a ticket to this years show, you can still stay up to date with all the news as it happens. Talk Android will make sure of it!
