Best portable chargers for your Android phone [2023] 4

Portable phone chargers and battery banks might just be the most popular accessory for your smartphone, besides the charger itself. Regardless of how good (or not so good) your phone battery is, it's nice to be able to pull an extra bank out of your bag and make sure you'll get through a full day no matter how much gaming or video watching you're doing.

Best portable chargers

There are a ton of portable batteries to pick from. A thousand brands with a million model numbers is a lot to dig through, but we're here to make that a little easier for you. Check out the best portable chargers on the market in our curated list, and put your battery anxiety at ease.

Anker PowerCore Slim 10k

If you’ve ever bought a smartphone accessory, you’re probably familiar with Anker. They’re easily the most popular brand for batteries, chargers, and everything else, and for good reason; they make some excellent stuff and they sell it cheap.

If you’re looking for value, check out the PowerCore Slim 10k, a 10,000mAh battery with a handful of ports and a sleek design. At that size you’ll be able to recharge all the biggest phones a couple of times, and with IQ fast charging you won’t have to wait long for it, either.

But the real cherry on top here is that Anker sells this for about $20. You’re getting something that easily fits in your pocket, handles charging whatever phone you have, and it’ll only cost you about as much as a month of Netflix. This battery made our list last year, too, and you know what they say; if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Baseus Power Bank

If you're looking for something with a little more juice, the Baseus Power Bank might be a better option. Coming in at a whopping 20,000mAh, it holds twice as much juice as Anker's slim charger and comes with a few extra bells and whistles to sweeten the deal.

There's a very legible LCD screen on the battery that shows you how much power you have left, plus a whole bunch of USB ports, including a microUSB for charging, USB-C for input/output at PD 3.0 speeds, and two USB A ports that deliver respectable 30W charging.

Those speeds really help set the Baseus offering apart. If you've spent any time on Steam Deck discussion boards, you've probably seen it come up for its quick charging speeds, which means this can handle not only your phone but also your laptops, tablets, and, yes, a Steam Deck or Nintendo Switch. Not too bad for $60.

Chargeasap Flash Pro Graphene Power Bank

And if the Baseus 20k portable charger still doesn't fit the bill, Chargeasap offers a monster 25,000 graphene battery that's guaranteed to charge anything you throw at it.

We actually reviewed the Chargeasap Flash Pro a few months ago and really enjoyed it. It's big and pricey, but has virtually no compromises with a ton of features, charging speeds, and capacities. You can even see just how fast each individual port is being charged with the Flash Pro's built-in display.

Not only does it top our list in capacity, but delivering 100W of power also means that it really will charge anything you need. You could probably rig up a small appliance to thing if you were really in a bind, although we definitely recommend a full power station at that point.

Deskmo

Another option that returns from 2022 is Deskmo’s option. It's not bringing huge capacities and charging speeds, but it does have a slim design and a built-in magnet to stay attached to your phone, almost like an integrated extended battery. It's one of the few options around that you can carry with you without also bringing a charging cable along.

It’s technically designed for MagSafe, which is exclusive to Apple, but at the end of the day it is just a magnet, and will stick to many other Android phones, especially anything with a magnet in the case. You get up to 15W fast wireless charging and a USB-C port if you’d rather charge it with a cable, and there’s a small display at the bottom to see how much charge your battery has left, too.

Samsung Portable Wireless Charger

If you're going all in on the Samsung aesthetic, they can hook you up with a portable battery, too. The 10,000mAh “superfast” charger delivers speeds up to 25W, which maybe isn't considered superfast these days, but the battery does have a trick up its sleeve.

The middle of the portable charger houses a Qi charging pad, which means you don't actually need a cable to recharge your phone, and when you're out and about this thing will rejuice your Galaxy Watch or wireless charging headphones in a pinch. That's still common with wireless chargers, which makes Samsung's option a worthwhile mention. Plus it'll match your brand new Galaxy S23 Ultra.

Miady 5000mAh 2-pack Portable Chargers

A thrifty option on our list, the Miady 2-pack of 5000mAh portable chargers gives you some versatility by being, well, two separate chargers. They're much more compact than anything else on this list, which is great if you have limited pocket or bag space, and you never know when that comes in handy.

The cheaper price tag and portability help offset some of the drawbacks, like the smaller capacity and microUSB charging. But not everything needs to be the biggest, most expensive accessory in your drawer, and that's where these kinds of chargers shine.
