Months ahead of their likely showcase during Google I/O, leaked renders of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro have leaked revealing some noticeable changes over their predecessors. The Pixel 8 Pro features a more rounded design which should make it more comfortable to hold while the vanilla Pixel 8 is said to be reduced in size down to around 5.8 inches. Both models will sport flat displays which should please those for whom curved screens are an automatic deal-breaker.

The leaked renders come courtesy of MySmartPrice in partnership with @OnLeaks, which means that they should be pretty accurate as leaks go. The Pixel 8 renders also show a more rounded design with smaller bezels than the Pixel 7, which should aid one-handed usage. The renders give the impression that the Pixel 8 has a dual rear camera setup which resides in the horizontal strip that also houses the LED flash. Code-named “Shiba”, the Pixel 8 should make its debut during Google I/O on May 10.

As for the Pixel 8 Pro, the leaked renders show the presence of a flat display with rounded edges and smaller bezels than its predecessor. The horizontal camera strip on the rear houses a trio of sensors in a single cutout, the LED flash, as well as an unspecified sensor.

Code-named “Husky”, the Pixel 8 Pro will almost certainly be powered by the Tensor G3 processor, the 3rd-Gen processor produced from Google and Samsung's chip venture.

While the Pixel 8 series (and the Pixel Fold) are believed to be shown off during Google I/O, it's unlikely to be officially launched before the traditional October timeslot. Instead, it's likely that the Pixel 7a will go on sale just after Google's developer conference, possibly alongside the new Pixel Tablet.
