Google Fi

Google Fi is getting a boost this month in the form of 5G coverage in more countries plus additional new features for Pixel and selected Samsung smartphones, and finally, the debut of hotspot tethering to iPhones. We've got the details for you after the break.

The number of countries covered by Google Fi's 5G coverage has tripled from 13 to 39 in total for those using Pixel handsets as well as those with a compatible Samsung phone such as the Galaxy S22 Ultra on the Flexible or Unlimited Plus plan. Those who don't have a Pixel or compatible Samsung device will still be able to benefit from full-speed 4G coverage in more than 200 countries, with Unlimited Plus plan subscribers also enjoying up to 50GB of high-speed data. Google says that it plans to expand its 5G coverage to more countries moving forward.

iPhone users using Google Fi can finally rejoice because WiFi Calling is now supported by Google Fi on Apple's smartphones. In addition to this, the Flexible and Unlimited Plus plans now include automatic international hotspot tethering coverage in more than 200 countries, just like it already did for Android phones.

Possibly the best part of this news is that there are no further charges and the options are there for you to use or not with no increase in your monthly Google Fi bill.
