The OPPO Reno 8 5G and 8 Pro are official with high-refresh AMOLED displays and flagship Dimensity processors

Here with a new mid-range flagship is OPPO whose Reno 8 Pro is powered by MediaTek's powerful Dimensity 8100-Max chipset, with a 120Hz AMOLED display and a neat design that is both reminiscent of the Find X5 Pro and the OnePlus 10T. Oppo's Reno 8 Pro (plus the Reno 8 5G and Pad Air tablet) launched in Europe today, and we've got the details for you after the break.

Reno 8 Pro

Sporting a glass rear panel with an integrated camera housing whose edges are curved, the Reno 8 Pro looks pretty darn sweet from the back. On the front is a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate. The Dimensity 8100-Max chipset is bolstered by 8/12GB RAM and up to 256GB of built-in storage.

The 4,500mAh battery supports 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, although as with the OnePlus 10 Pro, this is limited to 66W in regions using 110V power such as Taiwan, North America, and Latin America.

In terms of cameras, there's a 50MP (IMX766) main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. While OIS isn't present, the Reno 8 Pro does benefit from Oppo's MariSilicon X imaging chip. A 32MP front-facing camera is housed in the central punch-hole on the display.

Being powered by one of MediaTek's newest chipsets means that the Reno 8 Pro supports Bluetooth 5.3 as well as being compatible with WiFi 6. Besides supporting face unlock, you'll also find an under-display fingerprint sensor present. Finally, the Reno 8 Pro runs Android 12-based ColorOS 12.1 out of the box.

The Reno 8 Pro is available in Glazed Green and Glazed Black colorways for €799/£599 with the following pre-order deals that run until September 28th:

Reno 8 5G

Oppo also launched the Reno 8 5G which is priced at €599/£419 and powered by MediaTek's flagship Dimensity 1300 processor which is paired up with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of built-in storage (UFS 3.1). As with the Reno 8 Pro, the Reno 8 5G features 80W SuperVOOC fast charging which will top up its 4,500mAh battery from 0-50% in around 10 minutes. A 90Hz AMOLED display with a high refresh is also present.

The rear camera setup includes the same 50MP IMX766 main camera as seen on the Pro however, the MariSilicon X imaging processor is not included. The front-facing camera is the same 32MP sensor as on the Reno 8 Pro.

The Reno 8 5G is available in Shimmer Gold and Shimmer Black for £419 with the following deal until September 28th.

Pad Air

Finally, Oppo also took the wraps off its new Pad Air tablet which is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 680 chipset and sports a 10.36-inch display with 2K resolution and quad speakers that support Dolby Atmos. Just 6.94mm thick, the Pad Air's 7,100mAh batter is said to offer over ten hours of video playback.

The Pad Air is available from September 1st on Amazon and Oppo's online store for £239.
