Huawei Debuts Two New Phones, One Will Be World's Thinnest 5

Huawei continues to make strong statements in the smartphone industry. They've just announced two brand new smartphones: the Ascend P1 S and Ascend P1 and will be proudly pulling the curtains off the phone at CES (which you'll find Talk Android at giving you around the clock CES coverage by the way). Huawei is pulling no strings either with the specifications. Check out these sexy features for the phones:

  • Super AMOLED qHD 960 x 540 touchscreen with Corning Gorilla Glass
  • Dual-core TI OMAP 4460 Cortext-A9 CPU clocked at 1.5 GHz
  • Android 4.0
  • 1670 mAh/1800 mAh battery
  • Bluetooth 3.0
  • 8 megapixel BSI rear-facing with 1080P video recording
  • 1.3 megapixel HD front-facing camera with 720P video recording

Oh and there's one feature I forgot to mention of major significance for the Ascend P1 S– the phone will be the world's thinnest smartphone, coming in at a mere 6.68 mm thick. The Ascend P1 will be a smidge thicker as it will likely be for LTE carriers and markets.

The Huawei Ascend P1 and the Huawei Ascend P1 S will be available in a variety of colors including metallic black, ceramic white, cherry-blossom pink. Expect the phone to be launched in Europe, Asia-Pacific, North America, Australia, Middle East and China from anytime around Q2 2012. Stay tuned with Talk Android for more updates and info on the sexy new phone.

  1. You say major significance is being 6.68mm thick, I say major part of this phone is the USB 3.0! First I’ve seen and correct me if I’m wrong but first anyone has announced?! Well it looks like a mighty bit of kit, will keep an eye out because I use my phone like a pen drive and have native USB 3.0 on both home and work PC’s!
