A couple weeks back we told you that Samsung had promised that a patch was in the works to fix the Epic 4G Touch signal loss problem and today is the day it finally is released. For those of you who have been power cycling your Epic 4G Touch to regain signal, here's hoping this patch solves your annoying problem. Also, if you are experiencing a 4G hotspot signal loss when in a phone call, this update should address that as well.
The update will roll-out in random selection and could take up to 10 days to reach all devices. You should see a message in your notification bar when your device is within the selected batch to receive the update. If you are antsy and want to see if you can force the update, press Menu–> Settings–> About–> System Update. From there, if you device is ready to receive the EK02 update, you should see an update option, if not, you're just going to have to wait it out. To see the short but official changelog, hit the source link below. There you will also find a discussion link in case you have any further question or concerns.

Oh boy! I downloaded this 2 days ago…….. since then, I could only make calls (and Sprint thought I was lucky to do that) as most customers couldn’t make or receive calls. So I call Sprint (lol) and was told it was Samsung’s problem, it was their download… well, ok. So now I’m offered a hard reset AGAIN, that also happened with my last phone in May 2011. So now I download SMS Backup to make sure I keep all my phone and call logs, take out my SD card whilst waiting for call backs. Eventually called them, got my hard reset and yep, no blue tooth AGAIN! I was asked, “What is the problem”? “No Blue tooth” came the reply. It won’t connect to my computer or my Uconnect in my pickup (I say pick-up as I get corrected when I say truck. They don’t understand me till I say Dodge Ram “Ahhh, you mean a truck” Grrrr! “It’s a third party app”, “No it’s NOT, it’s a bluetooth connection, no downloads, no app required” They can’t help me. I have to take the phone to a store, 200 miles away (round trip) over mountains nearly 5,000 above sea level in the winter with snow and ice! Clearly flatlanders when I point this out as they couldn’t comprehend what I was saying! This is the shortened version of the frustrating phonecalls over the last few days! They gave me a number to call… Samsung itself. The store is closed!!!! PEOPLE! For goodness sake. If the Samsung Touch Epic 4 G is not ready for this upload DON’T SEND IT OUT!!!! Thousands of us up and down the country, including city dwelling flatlanders, are extemely frustrated with this.
unfortunately even after the update I am still having the problem and if possible more often.
