It's a good thing that Sony Ericsson has decided to abandon all other smartphone platforms and focus mainly on our beloved Android operating system. Although amidst a buyout by Sony, the company has managed to create it's first dual-core Android device, the Xperia Arc HD, and images of the device recently showed up on the web. This thing looks pretty nice, if the rumored specs are true, Sony will have a hot product on their hands.
Jump past the break for more photos.
The leaked photos of the device, codenamed Nozomi LT26i, can be seen below in all of its boxy glory. It is belived to sport a 4.3-inch 1280 x 720 display at 320 DPI. Rumors suggest the new Xperia device to be powered by a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor, feature 1 GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage and an uber impressive 12MP Exmor R camera. As you can see from the photos it's still equiped with the Gingerbread OS but the screen resolution leads me to believe the final product may ship with Android 4.0 – or at least it will see a timely update after launch.
With Sony planning to move forward with the production of tablets and smartphones, the new Xperia Arc HD could be one of the first devices to reach the market following the Sony buyout.
