Everyone wants to jump onboard with 4G LTE, but battery life has been a huge disappointment. Motorola is looking to change that with the DROID Bionic. We have heard rumors that it will have decent battery life, and now we have some proof thanks to a tipster. The above picture shows the battery life at 60%, which is after 15 hours of moderate use running 3G.
In this next picture you will see the level down to 50%. We are told that it was using 4G during this time with moderate use, and it took about 4 hours to get to this point. If you are keeping score we are at 19 hours total.

One more picture after the break
The last photo shows 15% remaining. The Bionic remained on 4G during this time and it took 6 hours to get to this point. Again, if you are keeping score, the total time is 25 hours.

This is quite impressive considering we are talking 4G LTE. We are told it is moderate use so we need to keep that into consideration. Ultimately, we really won't know anything until we get our hands on one and test it out in the “real world” for ourselves. It definitely has me excited, how about your guys?

HORRIBLE terrible battery life. Even with a double battery I bought afterward. I wish I could return it.
I have the Bionic charged it all night in 3hrs it died. Keeps jumping from 4g to 3g. This phone is a pos. New technology? Sorry if it was NEW we would not need a SIM card from the 90s to use it. This is one of those products that get marketed really well and when you finally get it very horrible. I had not had one positive experience. Hell i would go and say the LG Versa has a stronger battery life which i had before lasted 2days. WHY does this phone last a few hours after a 8hr charge. And the price we pay time to return this POS.
OK. I went on the net to see what I could find out about this phone because I was having so many problems out of it. It would not stay connected to the network. Every time I tried to browse the web check Ebay or anything like that I was told the phone was not connected to a network and I could do nothing. Very frustrating to say the least. So, no connection most of the time, short battery life and the shocking me was almost a deal buster. But I found on the internet a guy who said to remove the battery and then the sim card for about 1 minute and then put it back together. This would be the same as doing a *228. Not 100% sure what that is but I tried it and my phone is working much better then it was. I’m getting about 22 hours of battery life with mild use…(some surfing, calls, texts, ebook reading and the like. My network connection stays on most of the time now and again I’m still only 3G. It does go out some in my office or when I’m in the store where my original Droid 855 almost never had any problems staying connected. In my car or outside I have had no more drop outs. I think maybe they didn’t give the Bionic as strong an antenna probably to limit the streaming of video and music over the 3g and 4g networks forcing you to connect WiFi when you loose your signal at work or home but its still OK and much better than it was at first. And of course that’s just my guess as to why the all powerful Bionic can’t maintain a signal my poor old Droid 855 had no problem with. Now about the phone shocking my hand. It happens when I hold the phone in my left hand and the skin on my palm gets against the usb and hdmi connection ports. It kind of shocks me. Not bad just an annoying feeling that will not stop unless I move the phone away. Friends and family have told me they felt it to. So I know I’m not crazy. Is this just mine phone or has anybody else experienced this. Its so weird. If its common I’d like to know as most of the problems I was having where fixed with the pulling the battery and sim card. But the mild electrical feeling continues. Since the fix I’m getting to like the phone quite a bit and think it might just have a future it anyone cares.
I have had my Bionic for a week now, and the battery life is a frickin’ joke. I even rooted it and removed all the cruft, possible. I’m a very LIGHT user, barely using the phone throughout the day, aside from the occasional text message or email check. An overnight charge lasts me until around 2pm – with the phone sitting on my desk, doing nothing, about 95% of the time. I have to plug it in again by 8 or 9pm. After rooting my X and removing the always-running shitware, I could get a full day of HEAVY use, without getting running out. Great phone…TERRIBLE battery life.
Listen to Andrew!!! I bought the Bionic and the battery life SUCKS!!! Everything Andrew said is true. I pulled it off the charger and didn’t make any calls. Just checked Ebay once and maybe looked and a site of 2 and kept an eye on the battery. Looked around at some of the apps and killed the running apps about 4 or 5 times to make sure they would not eat up my battery. I just wanted to test the battery and see what it would do under almost no use. It was dead in 9 hours and 27 minutes on straight 3G. So basically you will need to almost charge this phone 3 times a day. It takes a bit to charge it as well so don’t think your going to just get a quick charge and off you go. This is the best 4G battery life on the market? Wow! That’s sad.
I have a Bionic – the battery life is terrible. I may have a defective unit, but if the replacement is as bad, I’m going to return it and wait (even longer) for a working LTE phone.
These photos are BS. The only way this guy got that battery life is if they only time he used the phone was to take those pics. I can send maybe 10 text messages and have 5 minute conversation and browse a couple sites and my battery will be dead in 10 hours easy…i own this phone so i think i now what i’m talking about. Even with that use it’s still all cell standby and phone idle taking up my battery…
For sure Bionic won’t be a battery disaster like Thunderbolt is, I think it will get about smartphone average battery life from that massive 2,000mah considering such a power intensive hardware, like dual-core cpu and 4G. It won’t be for a fact anything outstanding in battery life like this ridiculous article presents.
I think the Droid Bionic is going to be great when it comes out. There is a lot to love on this phone, mainly the dual-core processor and 4G. I love streaming movies so with all of these features, the Bionic should have no problem keeping up with me. The app that I use to stream is the DISH Remote Access app. I love this app because it lets me stream movies and TV shows anywhere I am! As a customer and employee of DISH Network, I have been using the DISH Remote Access app for a long time on my previous phone, and I know that it is going to work great on the Bionic once I get it!
This is Bull**** the first 15 hour were 3G, So there is not 25 hours on 4G like they make it sound like. Who ever wrote this is a moron..!!
Looking at the stats, that is not ‘moderate’ use in my view… the display would be up around 40-50% is moderate use….
I am a heavy user (both is weight and use :D ) I have a charger at home, at work and in my car. I use my phone for internet radio, navigation, work emails, twitter, and yes, even playing games.
When you get your hands on it, play angry birds. If you can get more than 2 hours of playing time, then it has good battery life. Since my X was upgraded to GB, I get about 2 hours of angry birds before the battery is depleted. On Froyo, it used to be about 3 hours.
Time will tell. The jury is still out in my mind if I want a Bionic or not. I have heard to many people not like the qHD display, so I might have to go into the store and compare displays.
If u look at the pictures and if you are an android user you will notice that the display is only 4% this means that they opened the phone, activated 4g and then let it sleep and from time to time open it to see the battery level. This is lame…
Battery is one of the key factor for Mobile phones. If battery holds for decent hours.. It will hit the market
