Thank Nothing for giving us an aluminum phone this year, but it’s still vulnerable. These are the cases worth buying to protect it.

Nothing has finally built a metal phone for its fans, and the 4a Pro is one solid piece of aluminum. The phone is hard to hurt, and even JerryRigEverything tried to bend it and it barely budged.

You would think you don't need a phone case, but metal ages, unfortunately. Eventually, your phone will give in to dents and scrapes that reveal the bare metal underneath.

Plus, the part around the cameras is plastic, and scratches faster than the rest of the phone, right where it rubs against surfaces. There are many other reasons not to ignore the need for a case. But don't wait to find out. Buy one for your phone's all-round protection.

Ringke Fusion-X Camo case

$20.99

The thing I'd notice first with the 4a Pro is how heavy and smooth it is in the hand, and the Fusion-X's dotted sides address the heavy-weight nature of the 4a Pro. You still see the Glyph lights through the back. But the corners are beefed up to combat dent that could damage the aluminum part. It even has strap holes, which are recommendable on a 210g phone.

MAKAVO translucent matte shockproof case

$13.99

This case has 38 magnets for mounts and wallets, a built-in camera cover, a frosted back that grips better than glossy plastic, and it's certified for drop protection. The camera cover also shields the plastic around the lenses that scuff first. However, the frosted back dims the Glyph lights slightly. Beside that, the case is a joy to use.

JETech anti-yellowing clear case

$9.99

Dots on the inside of this case stop cloudy blotches clear cases get when they press flat against the phone. It's a good $10 case that'll last you for a few good months if you're on a tight budget.

Liisooka ultra-thin protective cover

$11.99

If yellowing on cases drive you crazy, get this Liisooka product. Its back is acrylic, and resists sunlight strongly, compared to most regular clear plastic.

OWKEY military-grade protective case

$14.99

The protection benefits of this case cover the basics, with airbag corners, a 1.8mm lip around the camera and a 1.5mm lip around the screen. Plus, there's a 9H tempered glass protector in the box, so you won't need to buy one separately for a slightly higher price.

Fhyeugfy invisible kickstand case

$12.99

This case goes a long way for movie binge-watchers. It offers a stand that folds flat into the back. Flip it out, and enjoy any video content with your 6.83-inch screen propped up on any flat surface.

Mind all your phone's gaps or nothing

Most cases for the 4a Pro leave one big cutout around the camera island where the Glyph Matrix sits. Once the case goes on, the Glyph is the only exposed part of the back.

Consider adding a clear protector cut precisely for the full camera island, so the lenses and the Matrix both get protection as well. A clear film should let the LEDs show through. Tinted or matte options may dim them.
