If you own a Find X9 Pro or a Find N6, Android 17 is roughly two weeks away. Oppo has published its ColorOS 17 rollout schedule, and the first stable builds start pushing on October 8. The catch is that every date on the list applies to China, and there's still no word on when the rest of the world gets a turn.
The first wave is all flagships
Oppo is starting at the top of its lineup, with its newest foldable and Find X9 phones in the first batch:
- Find N6 and Find N6 Satellite Edition
- Find X9 Ultra and Find X9 Ultra Satellite Edition
- Find X9s Pro, Find X9 Pro and Find X9 Pro Satellite Edition
- Find X9

Last year's flagships follow on October 16
The second batch arrives a week later and covers the Find N5 and the entire Find X8 family, including the Ultra, Pro and Find X8s models. Oppo's Pad 5 Pro and Pad Mini tablets are also in this wave. That's a quick turnaround for phones that are now a generation old.
Reno and wearables round out October
The Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro get ColorOS 17 starting October 22. On the wearable side, the Watch X3 and Watch X3 Mini start updating on October 20, and the Watch X2 and Watch X2 Mini follow on October 30. It's good to see Oppo moving beyond its priciest hardware within the first month.
November 26 is the big one
Most Oppo owners will be waiting for the November 26 batch, which includes:
- Find N3, Find N3 Collector's Edition and Find N3 Flip
- Find X7 Ultra, Find X7 Ultra Satellite Edition and Find X7
- Reno 15 Pro, Reno 15 and Reno 15c
- Reno 14 Pro and Reno 14

Push dates aren't delivery dates
These are start dates, not guaranteed arrival dates. Oppo stages rollouts in batches, so your specific phone may take days or weeks to see the update after its date. The company can also shift the schedule while development is still underway.
What ColorOS 17 actually changes
The most visible change is the new Fluid Design, which aims to bring animations, visual effects and haptic feedback into line across the whole system. Under the hood, Oppo claims its new rendering engine uses 25% less memory to launch and run apps and cuts rendering workload by up to 30%. There's also a new round of AI features, which at this point is as predictable as the October launch window.
One OS, three brands
The bigger story is structural. ColorOS 17 is the first version to run as one OS across Oppo, OnePlus and Realme, now that OxygenOS and Realme UI have been folded into it. In theory, that means faster and more consistent updates across all three brands. In practice, it means Oppo's schedule is now everyone's schedule.
What about the rest of the world?
Here's where it gets murkier. Oppo hasn't announced a global or India timeline yet, though closed betas are already running in India on the Find X9 Pro, Reno 15 Pro and Reno 15 Pro Mini. Last year's pattern offers a rough guide: ColorOS 16 started in China on October 30, while the first global devices had to wait until November.
The takeaway
If that pattern holds, Find X9 owners outside China should expect ColorOS 17 sometime in November, with older models trailing into the new year. For US readers, the usual caveat applies, since Oppo still doesn't sell phones through official US channels. Imported Find X9 owners have a reasonable wait ahead, and everyone else is watching Oppo's global team for the next announcement.
