XTRA MUSE 2 PRO Challenges the Pocket Camera Category With Cinema Grade Features Under $700 4

Pocket gimbal cameras have become one of the most competitive spaces in creator tech. They sit at the center of travel content, vlogging, lifestyle video, social storytelling, and everyday mobile production. For years, the category has been shaped by a few familiar players, but XTRA is now entering the race as a dark horse with the MUSE 2 PRO, a pocket gimbal camera designed to challenge expectations at the under $700 price point.

Its strongest argument is technical. With the early-access page going live on June 18, the MUSE 2 PRO is being positioned for creators who want stabilized capture, stronger image latitude, advanced color control, high-frame-rate video, and creator-focused usability without stepping into a larger camera system.

The headline specification is up to 17 stops of dynamic range, a claim that gives the camera a serious imaging profile. Dynamic range matters because most creators are not shooting in controlled studios. They are filming against bright windows, in direct sunlight, inside restaurants, across city streets at night, on beaches, and in other high-contrast environments where highlights can blow out and shadows can lose detail.

With up to 17 stops of dynamic range, the MUSE 2 PRO is designed to preserve more information across bright and dark areas of the frame. For creators, that can mean more flexibility in difficult lighting and more latitude during editing. It is the type of sensor-performance promise more commonly associated with professional cinema cameras than typical pocket devices, giving XTRA a clear point of differentiation.

The camera’s 10-bit X-Log 3 color profile adds another layer of technical credibility. For users who care about color, 10-bit log recording provides richer color depth and more room for grading than standard color profiles typically allow. It gives creators more control over contrast, tone, skin rendering, and mood, which matters for travel films, fashion clips, beauty content, food videos, and lifestyle reels that need to feel intentionally produced.

High-frame-rate capture also plays a major role. The MUSE 2 PRO supports 4K/240FPS slow motion, giving creators the ability to capture dramatic movement in high resolution. Fabric moving on a runway, waves breaking along the coast, a cocktail pour, city lights in motion, or a sports moment captured with cinematic emphasis can all benefit from that kind of frame-rate flexibility. Bringing 4K/240FPS into a pocket gimbal form factor puts XTRA in a more ambitious creative class.

The MUSE 2 PRO is also designed for hybrid creators. With 37MP photo capture and panoramic image support, it can move between video, stills, scenic captures, thumbnails, and social-ready content without requiring a separate still camera. For travel shooters and creators working across platforms, that versatility is practical. Less gear means faster movement, fewer missed moments, and a more streamlined workflow.

Based on feedback about the physical design from original XTRA Muse users, XTRA has also refined the MUSE 2 PRO’s Dual-Side Flip Touchscreen + Integrated ¼” Grip with USB-C Port and ¼” Thread built directly into the bottom. The result is a cleaner, more ergonomic build intended to feel natural during handheld shooting. For creators filming walking sequences, self-facing video, or quick run-and-gun moments, comfort and control can affect how often a camera gets used.

The dual-side flip touchscreen is another useful upgrade. By allowing use from either side, it supports left- and right-side operation and makes the camera more flexible for solo creators who move between filming themselves and capturing the scene around them. In-camera beautify tools and built-in film filters add a more immediate layer for vloggers and lifestyle creators, while natural portrait perspective and skin tone rendering strengthen its appeal for face-to-camera work.

The timing also gives XTRA a broader creator-tech story. As the MUSE 2 PRO early-access launch opens on June 18 with teaser pricing under $700, XTRA is keeping the original XTRA MUSE in the conversation as an under-$400 option. During the promotional window, the XTRA MUSE is available for $329 with code XTRAMUSEPD on Amazon and the XTRA Store, giving buyers a lower-entry path into the brand while the MUSE 2 PRO moves in at the more advanced end of the lineup.

With up to 17-stop dynamic range, 10-bit X-Log 3, 4K/240FPS slow motion, 37MP photos, panoramic shooting, and a refined creator-focused design, the XTRA MUSE 2 PRO enters the U.S. pocket gimbal market with a credible technical story.

The XTRA MUSE 2 PRO early-access page goes live June 18 through XTRA’s official early-access page. The original XTRA MUSE, at $329 is also available on Amazon and the XTRA Store with code XTRAMUSEPD during the promotional periods – June 2 through June 26.
