It pretty much looks like last year’s model, but with a small change to the back material.

A publication called Digital Citizen claims it has obtained exclusive leaked renders of the Motorola Edge 2026. The phone was spotted with a champagne gold finish, a woven-texture back, a large triple-camera module, very thin bezels, and a flat display. Here's what it looks like.

Motorola has flattened its design this year

Newly leaked renders of the Motorola Edge 2026 show the upcoming phone in a warm olive-gold colorway. Beyond that, there's not much to tell about the device's specifications. The back has a textured finish that looks like fine vegan leather or fabric. Either way, it has a woven appearance rather than the commonly flat matte or glossy look.

As usual, the camera module is in the top-left corner. It's a large square-ish housing with three lenses arranged in a cluster, all rimmed with gold-tone metal rings that match the frame. There's a Sony LYTIA primary sensor, a line designed specifically for mobile photography and prioritizing low-light performance.

A second confirmed piece is a telephoto lens with Super Zoom support. Motorola hasn't specified the zoom range yet, but Super Zoom as a feature implies optical zoom backed by computational processing.

Hopefully, the camera hardware becomes more balanced. Motorola tends to oversharpen photos and struggles with moving subjects, especially indoors or at night. If Motorola improves the computational photography, the Edge 2026 could finally compete more seriously in the premium segment.

The frame is polished gold metal, and the front has slim bezels all around with a centered punch-hole cutout at the top for the selfie camera. The brand's logo is centered on the back.

The phone looks largely like its 2025 predecessor, except the 2025 Edge had a curved pOLED display. The screen bent at the edges, bleeding into the frame and giving it a subtle wraparound look. This time around, Motorola has gone flat.

It's a known fact that curved displays appear striking in renders and on a shelf, but they're problematic. You'll catch yourself making accidental touches constantly, and screen protectors are notoriously difficult to fit properly on curved panels.

Motorola Edge 2025 still looks tempting

The Motorola Edge 2025 is still available and worth buying. You can pick it up on Amazon for just $540. The phone comes with a 120Hz display and a 1220 x 2712 resolution. It supports HDR10+ and has a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, with a 92% screen-to-body ratio.

It also has a 4-nanometer octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chip clocked at 2.6GHz. It's paired with the Mali-G615 MC2 GPU and 8GB RAM. The only storage option is 256GB with no microSD slot. The rear camera is a 50MP Sony LYTIA 700C sensor, and there's a matching 50MP front camera.

The battery is a 5,200mAh cell with 68W TurboPower charging, which Motorola claims you can get up to 12 hours of battery life from just six minutes of charge. It also supports 15W wireless charging. It carries IP68 and IP69 ratings, military-grade drop protection, and Corning Gorilla Glass. Visit Amazon to get it now.
