A lot has been happening under BBK’s umbrella lately. The company is tightening control over its brands, and has pulled back under Oppo as of January this year. The brand is no longer acting as a fully independent brand, yet it will still release phones in its name for the usual audience.

At the same time, Oppo is expanding aggressively with flagship phones, tablets, earbuds, and a smartwatch together. The Find X9 Ultra and Pro phones are among them, and are expected to launch globally in April.

Oppo is launching two phones in April: The Find X9 Ultra, which is the highest-end model in the lineup and will carry the brand's most advanced hardware, and the Find X9S Pro, which also promises high-end performance but positioned at a lower price.

The Ultra model’s camera system is co-developed with Hasselblad, and that's as far as we know for the phone's confirmed specs. However, rumors have it that it will have a 50MP periscope telephoto lens with true 10x optical zoom.

Most flagship phones would carry a 3x to 5x optical zoom, and you might see a few push to 6x. Beyond that, they would usually switch to digital zoom where the phone crops and enhances the image.

You have the physical space and optics limits to blame for the transition and quality drop. It's nice to see Oppo breaking boundaries in this aspect.

Two 200MP sensors and a 50MP ultra-wide camera will assist the lens, with a 50MP selfie camera sitting at the front. Also included is a quintuple prism periscope system to fit the zoom into its compact body.

Added to that is a sensor-shift stabilization that should steady all shots at that range. There are rumors of a dedicated camera button on the side

Other Oppo devices are on the way

From consistent leaks tied to the Find X9 Ultra, we may see a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 1440 × 3120 resolution. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor is also not far off with storage configurations reaching 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.

Battery capacity is expected to be around 7,050mAh, with support for 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.

Besides the Find X9 phones, Oppo is launching the large Pad 5 Pro and Pad Mini tablets with a 1TB storage option. The Pro model will come with a 13.2-inch large display and run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor as well, according to Digital Chat Station on Weibo

Storage options will include 8GB or 12GB or 16GB RAM, paired with 256GB or 512GB storage depending on the variant. There's no 1TB option because of cost and demand.

The battery is listed as 11,905mAh rated, with a typical capacity around 13,000mAh, and it supports 67W fast charging. It has an 8MP front camera and a 13MP rear camera.

Oppo will also launch the Enco Clip 2 ear-clip style earbuds. They are designed to rest on the outside of the ear instead of going into the ear canal. The company confirmed there will be enough stock at launch, while addressing past shortages. Finally, they're launching the Watch X3 Mini smartwatch.
