Family plans have become increasingly popular. They're almost everywhere from YouTube memberships and app bundles. Cost savings from individual subscriptions are too good to ignore. Carriers are also locking into the trend and wrapping entire lifestyle perks into one monthly bill.
T-Mobile, especially, has just launched a premium backed by a five-year price guarantee that none of its rivals are offering. Here's what it has in store for you.
It's not too late to start the year with Better Value
In a recent press release, T-Mobile has launched a new family plan called Better Value. It will give families all the high-end benefits of their most expensive plans, but at a lower bundled price. The said perks include the following:
- Unlimited premium 5G data.
- 250GB high-speed hotspot data (then slowed to 600 kbps).
- 30GB high-speed data abroad in 215+ countries.
- Satellite text + basic data through satellite-optimized apps
- Netflix + Hulu at no extra costs.
- Apple TV for $3.
- Magenta Status perks (travel, concerts, food, etc.)
- Option to add $10 Home Internet Backup.
- Two-year device upgrade eligibility.
- 5-year price guarantee.
Better Value is designed to deliver real savings families can feel right away and keep over time. Families can save over $1,000 compared to similar plans from AT&T and Verizon, by getting built-in benefits the other guys leave out, like streaming and satellite connectivity, while existing T-Mobile customers upgrading their family plan with three or more lines from Essentials can save over $50 a month on included benefits like entertainment, satellite and premium scam protection.

Better Value starts at $140 per month for three lines with AutoPay. So, roughly $46 per line plus taxes or fees.
It's compulsory that you actually have two or more lines, regardless of whether you're an existing customer who has been with T-Mobile for over five years or you're a newcomer.
The plan will be available starting January 14 this year.
It takes 15 minutes to switch over to Better Value
T-Mobile says it will simplify the switching process to Better Value. You won't have to deal with the back-and-forth that comes with changing carriers. They've made a tempting 15 Minutes per line pitch, which means that you can move each phone number to T-Mobile through the T-Life app without visiting a store or calling anyone.
Simply open the T-Life app, use the Easy Switch tool and identify your current carrier. Prepare transfer, and activate your T-Mobile service through electronic SIM. The whole thing will run in the background while you do other things.
The carrier has also addressed another common issue, which is phone payments. If you're still paying off a device with your old carrier, the T-Life app will first confirm your eligibility to switch over, and T-Mobile will cover the remaining balance with up to $800 per line. It applies to four lines.
If you want to keep your current phone, the app will move your number to T-Mobile and you’ll continue using it. But if you want a new phone instead, you can order it directly and have it delivered the same day through DoorDash.
