OnePlus 15 had a successful launch in October 2025. Barely has the dust of its landing settled, and rumors are already flying about its successor. New leaks suggest the OnePlus 16 is underway.
But that’s not what makes this leak so captivating. A Pro model has also been teased. If you’ve been following OnePlus for a while, you’ll know that's not usually how the company operates. We typically get a toned down 15R alongside the main flagship. The phone is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2026 (Q4), and may be called the OnePlus 16 Ultra.
It's the first Pro phone since the OnePlus 10 Pro
OnePlus Club, a well-known OnePlus-focused insider account, has shared rumors that a Pro or Ultra tier flagship model is to arrive in Q4 of this year. If the leak is correct, we should expect the phone to arrive between October and December.
This is the first time the company is introducing a Pro model since the OnePlus 10 Pro. They stopped making Pro models because the company felt the label had become redundant in its own lineup.
They then decided to roll everything into one main flagship. In their view, if there’s only one top-tier phone, it shouldn’t need a Pro name to justify itself. Plus, maintaining multiple high-end variants is expensive.
Each extra model adds cost in R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and regional certification, especially in markets like North America where sales volumes are smaller and competition is brutal.
But the market has changed so much. Samsung, Xiaomi, Honor, Vivo, and other brands are fully locked into the Pro and Ultra models. They all now use them as a halo product, and OnePlus can't afford to miss out.

That aside, images of the OnePlus 16 suggests that it'll have the same design as the previous model. The brand used a matte design with the camera module in the upper left corner. There are visible water droplets hinting at water resistance.
OnePlus 15T specs have also been leaked
While OnePlus 16 rumors have been unconfirmed, another leak shows specs for upcoming OnePlus 15T.
According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the phone will launch with a 6.3-inch flat display with a 1.5K resolution and 165Hz refresh rate.
It will likely use a Low-Temperature Polycrystalline Silicon (LTPS) panel and have a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. While it’s not the AMOLED we got on last year’s model, it's not completely a downgrade.

The clear advantages of AMOLED are contrast and the ability to dynamically lower the refresh rate to save power. An LTPS panel cannot drop to very low refresh rates in the same way, and may use higher power when displaying static content.
But they likely went with this option to allow the hardware to support the larger battery. On the back of the phone is a 50MP JN5 telephoto lens and it'll have a 7,500mAh battery powering it. Again, these features remain unconfirmed until OnePlus makes a press release.
