Honor has launched the Magic8 Lite in the United Kingdom, introducing what the company calls the toughest and longest-lasting smartphone in its class. Headlined by a massive 7500mAh silicon-carbon battery capable of delivering up to three days of runtime, the Magic8 Lite also becomes the first device to achieve the SGS 5-Star Comprehensive Reliability Certification — setting a new benchmark for durability in the mid-range segment.

Durability takes centre stage

Honor has doubled down on rugged engineering with its new triple-resistant design. The Magic8 Lite carries the SGS Triple Resistant Premium Performance Certification, indicating it is built to withstand drops, water exposure, and dust intrusion.

It is rated to survive drops from heights of up to 2.5 metres thanks to Honor Ultra-Bounce Anti-Drop Technology, reinforced materials, and new ultra-deep tempered glass. The IP69K water-resistance rating means it can withstand rinsing, splashing, hot water (for up to 10 seconds), and even dirty water. Honor states that the Magic8 Lite continues to function after submersion at 1.5 metres for up to 30 minutes, while AI Heavy Rain Touch and AI Glove Touch ensure the screen remains responsive in adverse weather conditions.

The 7500mAh silicon-carbon battery is engineered for extreme longevity, retaining more than 80% of its original capacity after six years of use. Test results show users can expect up to 52.5 hours of music playback, 23.8 hours of online video, 16.8 hours of gaming, and 12.3 hours of video calling on a single charge.

The device also supports 7.5W reverse charging, acting as a portable power bank when needed. Multi-point temperature monitoring keeps the battery performing between -30°C and 55°C, while Ultra-power Saving mode provides up to 60 minutes of calling at 2% battery. When it is time to recharge, 66W Honor SuperCharge rapidly gets the device back up to speed.

108MP imaging with AI enhancements

A 108MP ultra-sensing primary camera, backed by a large 1/1.67-inch sensor and both OIS and EIS, headlines the Magic8 Lite’s imaging setup. Honor says it delivers crisp detail and enhanced brightness across both daylight and low-light conditions.

AI-powered tools — including AI Eraser, AI Cutout, and AI Outpainting — expand creative editing options. Honor Connection also supports fast photo transfers, and the 4K HD moving photo collage mode adds dynamic flair to captured moments.

Immersive, eye-friendly OLED display

The Magic8 Lite features a 6.79-inch OLED display with 1.07 billion colours, a 1.5K resolution, and an impressive 6000-nit peak HDR brightness. Extremely narrow 1.3mm bezels help achieve a 94.6% screen-to-body ratio, while the 120Hz refresh rate strengthens fluidity across the interface.

A suite of eye-comfort technologies — including 3840Hz PWM risk-free dimming, Circadian Night Display, AI Defocus Display, Dynamic Dimming, and hardware-level low-blue-light — ensures comfortable long-term viewing.

Faster, smoother performance

Powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset, the Magic8 Lite delivers a 29% GPU uplift and an 11% CPU boost over the previous generation. Honor’s RAM Turbo Technology enhances multitasking by creating a 16GB RAM equivalent experience (8GB physical + 8GB virtual), paired with 512GB of internal storage.

UK availability

Honor is rolling out the Magic8 Lite across major UK operators and retailers, including EE, Virgin Media O2, Vodafone, Three, Tesco Mobile, Currys, Argos, Very, Amazon, AO, and John Lewis & Partners. Customers can choose from three colourways: Forest Green, Midnight Black, and Reddish Brown.

With standout pillars of durability, battery endurance, and imaging, the Magic8 Lite enters the UK mid-range market as one of the most ambitious devices Honor has launched — and it signals the brand’s ongoing push to elevate affordable smartphone innovation.
