OnePlus is celebrating its 12th anniversary with a trio of announcements: new details on the upcoming OnePlus 15R, a big display upgrade for the OnePlus Pad Go 2, and the debut of the OnePlus Watch Lite. All three products land on December 17, alongside community celebrations and a new OnePlus mini-game featuring mascot Una. It’s a packed update, especially for fans keeping an eye on the next wave of performance-focused hardware.

OnePlus 15R

The OnePlus 15R is shaping up to be a proper successor to the R-series legacy, especially now that the company has confirmed several of its most significant upgrades. The 15R inherits the same Detailmax Engine from the flagship OnePlus 15, bringing Ultra Clear Mode, Clear Burst, and Clear Night Engine to the mid-flagship tier. In other words, low-light photography and fast-moving subjects should look a whole lot cleaner than before.

There’s also a 165 Hz 1.5K AMOLED display onboard, pushing 450 ppi and hitting up to 1,800 nits. It can drop as low as one nit with Reduce White Point for night-time use, and the overall setup feels tuned for fast gameplay as much as general use.

Performance gets an equally meaningful lift. The 15R runs the co-developed Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, making it the first phone globally to ship with Qualcomm’s latest silicon. OnePlus pairs this with its triple-chip approach — the new G2 Wi-Fi chip for stronger connectivity and a separate Touch Response Chip that boosts touch-sensing speed, which should be a big deal for reaction-based games.

OnePlus Pad Go 2

The Pad Go 2 moves up a tier in display quality this year. It packs a large 12.1-inch panel at 2.8K resolution, hitting 900 nits peak brightness and covering 98% of the DCI-P3 colour space. Dolby Vision support and TÜV Rheinland Smart Care 4.0 certification round out what sounds like a surprisingly premium visual experience for a mid-range tablet.

OnePlus is also pushing software further with Open Canvas, the company’s self-developed multitasking system for big screens. Split-screen, floating windows, and gesture-based layout controls aim to bring something closer to desktop fluidity, without the usual learning curve.

OnePlus Watch Lite

Alongside phones and tablets, OnePlus is introducing the Watch Lite — a slim, stainless steel wearable designed to bring core smartwatch features at a more accessible price point.

The watch weighs only 35 grams and measures just 8.9 mm thick, yet still uses a 316L stainless steel frame finished in Phantom Black for improved scratch resistance. The 1.46-inch AMOLED panel hits 3,000 nits in Sports Mode, making it readable even in direct sunlight, while sitting at 600 nits for everyday use.

Health tracking is a key focus this year. A new 60s Wellness Overview pulls together multiple metrics at once, with an 8-channel heart rate sensor and 16-channel SpO₂ sensor working in tandem. Fitness coverage is broad too, with over 100 sports modes and automatic calculations for VO₂ Max and Lactate Threshold after intense workouts. Dual-band GPS promises more stable outdoor tracking, especially in dense cities.

Interestingly, OnePlus has added cross-OS dual-phone pairing, allowing the Watch Lite to stay connected to both Android and iPhone — or two Android phones — at the same time.

Celebrating 12 years of OnePlus

Beyond hardware, OnePlus is marking its anniversary with a community letter from founder Pete Lau, reflecting on the company’s mission and its renewed focus on empowering young users through accessible, burdenless technology.

Fans can also jump into the new OnePlus Run 2.0 game starring Una, with prizes including the OnePlus 15R, Pad Go 2, and OnePlus 15. New festive Una variants — including a Christmas tartan outfit and a Diwali Kurta Pyjama — round out the celebrations and add a playful touch to the anniversary lineup.

Verdict

OnePlus is kicking off its 12th anniversary with a well-rounded trio of devices that push performance, display quality, and everyday usability. The 15R looks like a genuine value flagship contender, the Pad Go 2 brings premium-leaning visuals to the mid-range tablet space, and the Watch Lite seems poised to hit the sweet spot for affordable wearables. Expect a busy launch day on December 17.
