You know a phone means serious business when it comes with a camera kit. I’m yet to see any one that’s truly on par with a proper DSLR, but the results we’re seeing so far are dangerously close.

Vivo has confirmed that its upcoming X300 series will support its existing ZEISS 2.35x telephoto converter camera kit. The company shared renders for the X300 and X300 Pro, including a new silver variant for the base X300, while the X300 Ultra is expected to support the same lens as well.

Vivo will put a mobile professional camera in your hands soon

The Vivo X300 series will launch in China at exactly 7PM on October 13, 2025, with potential international availability still unconfirmed. In the meantime, the company announced on their Weibo account that the entire series will support the ZEISS 2.35x telephoto converter previously seen on the X200 Ultra.

According to them, this lens attachment allows for extremely detailed telephoto shots. They will complement the  triple rear camera setup on both models.

Normally, phones rely on digital zoom, which merely crops the image until it looks soft or pixelated. The standard variant will come with 200MP main rear sensor.

The X300 Pro will get a 200 MP APO periscope telephoto unit that should offer better chromatic aberrations. It'll bring all three wavelengths of light (red, green, and blue) into the same focus point and correct them.

The converter should help the lens itself bend and focus the light before it hits the sensor, so that the end result isn’t distorted. Vivo also highlighted the new silver color for it that has been designed to match the phone’s aesthetic and has shared images.

Both phones will use MediaTek's latest Dimensity 9500 chip. Most chips usually ship with a generic ISP, and phone makers occasionally tune it with software to make their cameras look unique.

Vivo has done that and tweaked it with their own imaging pipeline hardwired into the silicon. So, expect computational photography tricks that will compete with other phones using the same chip.

We're already seeing the X300’s photo capabilities pre-launch

The first image spotted on Vivo’s account shows four X300 phones in different colors of gray, light or powder blue, and pink/rose gold. The phone on the right side is strapped to the large ZEISS 2.35x telephoto lens attachment extended. It has a black metal or high-quality plastic finish with visible texture and grip patterns around the barrel.

The second image shows three X300 phones in pink, champagne/gold, and dark gray. The rightmost device also sports a professional-style telephoto lens with a separate pistol-grip style handle attached to the bottom. Each attachment is almost as long as the phone itself when extended.

If you want to see more pictures, Vivo also shared images from the Changchun Air Show on Weibo. Among them are war eagles performing synchronized maneuvers above excited crowds, and you'll also see children’s smiles and waving hands in the audience.

Vivo framed the images as a tribute to the nation’s defenders and celebrating protection. The posts generated significant engagement, with thousands of likes, comments, and shares from users praising both the military display and the brand's photography. Many comments noted the clarity of the images, which are agreeably impressive.
