In the Android era of phones, the extent to which the technology has evolved is hard to explain to those who weren't paying attention. We have gone from relatively blocky devices with massive bezels and single mediocre cameras to slim, bezelless devices with plenty of power and multiple lenses to choose from.

And I can't ignore talking about the batteries. Silicon-carbon technology marks the biggest improvement in smartphone longevity since I've been following the industry, and the Honor Power, launched in April, is a good example of that, shoving an 8,000mAh battery into an 8mm body. Now, it seems like the phone's sequel will be even crazier.

The Honor Power launched a few months ago, and from its name alone, it was clear what the device's selling point was going to be. Taking advantage of silicon-carbon battery technology, Honor was able to fit an 8,000mAh battery into the device's relatively regular footprint. I mean, it is only 8mm thick, which is thinner than the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Moments such as these are when I really love technology.

Needless to say, as the first device in its series, there's no reason to expect it not to get a successor, though we have no idea when that might come. However, we do know one major piece of information regarding the device, and that's how large its battery might be.

SmartphoneBattery Capacity
Honor X708,300mAh
Honor Power8,000mAh
Xiaomi Redmi Turbo 4 Pro7,500mAh
Redmagic 10 Pro7,050mAh
Realme GT 77,000mAh
OnePlus Ace 5 Ultra6,700mAh

This rumor comes courtesy of Digital Chat Station, one of the most reliable leakers when it comes to Chinese OEMs. The tipster announced a few days ago that a certain device was moving along in its development and was being tested with a 10,000mAh battery. While he didn't mention the device, the emoji he used seems to be specific to his posts about Honor, leading many in the comments to conclude that it is the Honor Power 2.

Don't Expect the Honor Power 2 to Make It to Any International Markets

The Honor Power 2 certainly won't be arriving on the scene this year, especially because the current model is still very fresh on the market. However, it wouldn't be wrong to assume that it'll arrive in the first half of next year, similar to the Honor Power.

However, the biggest problem for most people who are interested in this smartphone is that they'll almost certainly not be able to get their hands on it. If you were wondering why you didn't hear much about the original Honor Power, it's because the device is exclusive to China. The chances that the Honor Power 2 will follow suit are very high, especially with the limitations on importation of certain battery capacities.

If you want to get a regular-looking phone with a big battery, as someone in the United States, your options are limited, and they're also much smaller (though there's a reason for that). However, here are some of the options that you can choose from:

  • Redmagic 10S Pro: 7,050mAh
  • OnePlus 13: 6,000mAh
  • Asus ROG Phone 9 Pro: 5,800mAh
  • Asus Zenfone 12 Ultra: 5,500mAh
  • Motorola Edge (2025): 5,200mAh
  • Google Pixel 9a: 5,100mAh
  • Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: 5,000mAh
