Among my biggest causes of excitement last week was Xiaomi’s YU7 SUV. The same company that makes some of your favorite budget phone and smart band recently unveiled a car. I guess they’ve truly taken the word “mobile” to new heights.

As much as I’d love to ramble about the electric beast rolling out in China, this post is about the other interesting technology they announced. The Mix Flip 2 foldable, the Pad 7S Pro 12.5, and a smart eyewear concept that might just be cooler than Google Glass are but a few of them.

Xiaomi’s “A New Beginning” event didn’t hold back on interesting releases. Among them is the Mix Flip 2, a compact 199g foldable phone that uses the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, a 5165mAh battery, and a Leica-branded camera system.

The inner display reaches 6.86 inches with AMOLED quality, while the outer screen is 4.01 inches. Both displays run at 120Hz and have IPX8 water resistance.

The phone comes in memory configurations of 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, and 16GB+1TB. Pricing starts at 5,999 RMB ($836). There's a Special Edition that’s been styled to match the Xiaomi YU7 SUV.

So if you’re the type to coordinate outfits, technology, and more, get it instead. It’ll only come in two storage variants: 12GB RAM with 256GB storage. You’ll be able to buy it through Xiaomi’s regular online store, their Auto App, or at Xiaomi Home retail locations in China.

The next device turning heads is the 576g Pad 7S Pro 12.5, which is meant to be more beastly than the 7 Pro model launched earlier in May. with Xiaomi’s first in-house three nanometer chip, the Xring O1. The display is a 12.5-inch 3.2K LCD panel running at 144Hz. There’s support for fast 120W charging on a 10,610mAh battery and 7.5W reverse wireless charging for your accessories.

There's a 32MP front camera and a 50MP rear camera. A six-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos delivers great sound, and a full accessory support including a keyboard and stylus give you everything you need to be productive. It ships with HyperOS 2 and is available for 3,299 RMB ($460), with a Matte Glass model priced from 4,099 RMB ($571).

Xiaomi AI glasses bring impeccable eyewear tech

Xiaomi has surprised us with their AI Glasses. It's designed to use real-time translation, object recognition, live streaming, and even calorie estimation. It's wild knowing I can just stare at my plate and get a full nutritional breakdown. I’ll still eat the junk regardless, but at least now I know exactly what I’m consuming.

There’s a 12MP camera for 2K video on the glasses, as well as the Snapdragon AR1 inside. There are electrochromic lenses, and speakers built into the arms. Overall, it weighs 40g and has a 263mAh. Th starting price is from 1,999 RMB ($279).

More with Xiaomi

Apart from the headline-grabbing devices, Xiaomi brought out a handful of smart lifestyle devices that filled out the rest of its ecosystem. The Smart Band 10 made its debut with enhanced workout tracking. It now sits somewhere between casual wearable and a health companion, complete with VO₂ max readings and even AI-powered swim stroke detection. The OpenWear Stereo Pro earbuds and Watch S4 have also launched alongside it.
