I give Samsung a hard time for its reluctance to adopt trends that would only benefit the customers (silicon-carbon batteries, faster charging, updated cameras on non-Ultra models). However, if I don't compare and focus solely on each Samsung phone, it is hard to say that they aren't excellent. In fact, the S series is consistently good every year.
This year, we have the Galaxy S25 series, which doesn't bring that many changes to the spec sheet, but focuses mostly on optimizing the Galaxy AI experience that was introduced last year. The software is great, especially with One UI 7; the hardware is amazing, as usual; and that high price is at its lowest ever, in time for a Father's Day gift.

I don't know if the Galaxy S25 Ultra is unarguably the flagship of the year, but to say that it isn't even in the running would be dishonest. The device brings the usual excellent Samsung formula, with a magnificent display, an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite, a great camera setup, and good software. For anyone who wants a flagship smartphone without doing too much research, you can never go wrong with the S25 Ultra.
Of course, being the most capable on paper than any of Samsung's other smartphones, it is no surprise that this one costs a lot of money. In fact, the S25 Ultra retails at $1,299, making it the second-most expensive device in the South Korean OEM's worldwide lineup, second only to the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

The good thing is, you can ignore that usually heavy pricing, at least for a limited amount of time. The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is currently enjoying a hefty discount on Amazon US, knocking off $300, equivalent to 23% of its price, to bring it down to $999. The 512GB model also has a $300 discount at the moment.
Just so you know, the S25 Ultra has never been in the three-digit price range on Amazon, so this is a record price, and it is definitely worth getting for yourself or as a gift for Father's Day.

Why should you get the Galaxy S25 Ultra over a Pixel, or a OnePlus, or a Vivo? It's not a perfect device, but there are still a lot of reasons I can list.
