If you are having a problem sharing your brand new tablet with your child, the VINCI Tab could be your answer. It is an Android 2.3 Gingerbread tablet that has a 7-inch tempered-glass display with soft edges specifically for children up to four years old. Other specs are not too shabby as it includes:
- 800 x 480 display
- 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 CPU
- 512MB of RAM
- 3MP rear camera
- 720p recording
- micro USB
- micro SD card (choice of 4GB or 8GB)
- 3200 mAh or 6400 mAh battery
You won't find WiFi or a 3G radio in it. This is meant to keep your child safe from inappropriate content and to control the expenditures.
You will notice in the pictures that is surrounded by a red easy grip handle that is made of silicone-like material. The multi-touch display is covered by the same glass that is utilized in car windows.
VINCI it preloaded with a bunch of apps tailored for toddlers such as games, storybooks, and music videos. It also comes with a VINCI Diary app which is for the parents as it “provides a comprehensive reference for your child's growth from an emotional and intellectual perspective.” Supposedly more apps will be made available in the near future.
VINCI Tab is available for pre-order on Amazon in either the 8 GB/6400 mAh or 4 GB/3200 mAh version, priced at $479 and $389 respectively. The tablet is expected to be released on August 10th, and for those of you in the Los Angeles area, upscale retailer Ron Robinson | Fred Segal will host an exclusive VINCI launch event at their Melrose location from 4 – 8pm on the 1oth. They are expecting over 300 celebrities in attendance.
