During my recent trip to India, I tested the KnowRoaming eSIM with 50GB of data. In this article, I’ll explain eSIMs, how they work, and why KnowRoaming is a game-changer for travelers looking to stay connected and save money on mobile data abroad.

What is an eSIM provider?

A travel eSIM provider offers digital SIM cards that connect you to mobile networks, eliminating the need for a physical SIM card. These virtual SIMs can be activated in minutes and typically offer cost-effective data plans, ensuring you stay connected seamlessly while traveling.

Providers like KnowRoaming simplify the process, making it more affordable and accessible to enjoy reliable internet wherever your journey takes you.

For full disclosure, KnowRoaming provided the eSIM free of charge to Talk Android. However, all opinions shared here are entirely my own and reflect my genuine experiences with the service.

Installing the eSim:

The KnowRoaming app, available for Android and iOS, allows you to select where you will be visiting.

In my case, with a trip to India lined up, I got an eSim for India (courtesy of KnowRoaming) for 50GB of data ($90) at the time of writing; however, discounts on the app are regularly offered.

To install the eSim, you literally click ‘Install eSim' and go through the process.

Once installed, the eSim was loaded onto the phone:

Upon landing in India, it instantly activated, and I had high-speed internet for the entire trip. I had LTE basically everywhere and got speeds of up to 50mb/s.

The Money Saving Element:

Over my 17-day trip to India, I used just over 25GB of data. To put that into perspective, my home phone provider charges £0.10 per MB for international roaming.

My 25GB of usage would have cost a staggering £2,500 ($3,183) at those rates.

In contrast, the KnowRoaming eSIM provided the same amount of data for just $90—a fraction of the cost- an obvious choice for budget-conscious travelers.

KnowRoaming Offers FAST Internet vs Other eSim Providers:

Before switching to KnowRoaming, I used another major eSIM provider, and my partner continued using their service during this trip. The difference in internet speeds was immediately noticeable – KnowRoaming consistently delivered faster, more reliable connections, even in the same locations.

Summary

In conclusion, my experience with the KnowRoaming eSIM was exceptional, offering seamless connectivity, impressive speeds, and significant savings compared to traditional roaming fees.

Installing and activating the eSIM was effortless. During my 17-day trip to India, it consistently delivered fast, reliable internet and outperformed other eSIM providers I’ve tried. For anyone looking to stay connected abroad without breaking the bank, KnowRoaming is a dependable and cost-effective solution that I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
