Google has released two official teaser videos for its Pixel 9 line of smartphones, and they're stunning. Like the Pixel 7 and 8 series, both phones will use artificial intelligence and sport porcelain-like colors. Here's more from the teasers.

Official first looks at the Pixel 9 Pro & Pixel 9 Pro Fold

Google has officially released two 30-second teaser videos to show you what its Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold phones look like — since you've already seen them anyway. In recent weeks, various leaks have circulated the internet to show us what to expect. This is the first Google is letting us in on their designs before the main release.

YouTube video

The Pixel 9 Pro video starts with someone prompting Gemini to generate a breakup letter to their old phone. It's not surprising , considering Google's history of using humor in ads. Then we see a lovely render of the Pixel 9 swiveling into view. The video ends with the date August 13, which is obviously the launch date. It also happens to be the date for the upcoming Made by Google event. It's scheduled to take place at 10am Pacific Time (PT) at the company's headquarters in Mountain View, California.

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold video is the same, the difference being the phone's render. It opens from the cover display to showcase a flat and crease-free main screen, then closes to show the rear cameras with two rows of lenses. As expected, both phones feature flat designs, rounded corners, and giant pill-shaped camera bumps.

No official specifications for Pixel 9 phones released

Beyond the videos Google has shared, the brand hasn't released official specifications for its Pixel 9 phones. But if rumors are anything to go by, expect a dual camera system with 50-megapixel wide and telephoto lenses on the Pixel 9 Pro. Also, the phone may come in two sizes. That is, the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL models.

AI is also a big deal on Google's phones.  Although the brand doesn't mention what's coming, we've confirmed three new features to board their latest flagships. Add Me is an improvement to Pixel 8’s Best Take feature. It adjusts group photos to keep everyone looking their best in group photos. Meanwhile, Studio is an upgraded Creative Assistant app for making and remixing stickers, with potential to generate AI images and videos. Finally, Pixel Screenshots is a privacy-focused tool similar to Microsoft's Recall that adds metadata to screenshots, allowing you to search and interact with them locally.

We'll just have to wait until the Made by Google event to learn more information. In the meantime, subscribe for news surrounding the Pixel 9 Pro release on the Pixel Store website. You can also add the event to your Google Calendar so you don't miss it.
