Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, Prime Video, Apple TV+, Max, Peacock. The number of popular streaming services out there is staggering and since each one has its own exclusives, it is easy to find yourself subscribing to more than one at a time.
Here's some good news though, and pretty unprecedented at that: if you happen to use Disney+, Hulu, and Max, you can now buy all three of them in a single bundle. This is pretty impressive because Max isn't under the same parent company as the other two.
Disney Entertainment and Warner Bros. Discovery Join Forces For A Three-Product Bundle
Beyond announcements of price hikes and plans to add even more ads to services, there isn't much exciting stuff going on in the world of streaming. However, this is one of the rare occasions where there's something pretty cool to talk about, and as far as I know, something like this hasn't happened before.
Disney Entertainment, which owns Disney+ and Hulu; and Warner Bros. Discovery, which owns Max (formerly HBO Max); have come together to announce a brand-new package that bundles Disney+, Hulu, and Max, into one single streaming bundle. Personally, I've never heard of a deal like this where two competitors come together to offer a more convenient option for consumers, but I would certainly like to see more of this in the works.
This service has been announced but it is not available for purchase, and with that, there's no pricing information yet. However, we do know that it is expected to launch in the Summer in the United States. You'll be able to hop onto the new plan through the official websites of any of the three services, and there will also be options for a plan with ads and another without ads.
When all of these are combined, it's very hard to argue with the value you'll be getting (though the pricing structure will determine that most). You'll be able to watch TV series and movies from Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, Harry Potter, the DC Universe, HBO, and so many more. That's a lot of good stuff, and a lot of the most popular franchises in the world are covered in that.
I'd Love To See More Collaborations Of This Sort From Other Streaming Services
To be honest, with a good price attached to this triple service bundle, I think a good number of people are bound to jump on it. You get three times as much content in one subscription and with this alone, I don't think I'd bother with anything else for my home entertainment needs.
I'm not sure how both companies were able to sit down and get this to work, seeing as most digital products are in constant war with one another and collaboration isn't usually on the cards. However, it's cool that it did work out in the end. It'd be cool to see offers like this extend to other streaming services but I know this is extremely unlikely.
Either way, kudos to Disney and Warner Bros. We await the summer months when we'll learn more about this bundle.
