Switching over to a new carrier can be a little daunting and no one wants to be stuck in a contract with poor coverage and data speeds. With that in mind, Cricket's has launched a new app which aims to allow those of us with Android phones to test its network for 14 days without obligation. Called tryCricket, the app is finally available to download on the Play Store after having been available to iPhone users since November 2022.
Once you've downloaded the tryCricket app and sign up, Cricket will then send you a physical SIM card which will have 3GB of data and unlimited text and talk allowances loaded.
“John Dwyer, President of Cricket Wireless said “There’s no charge, no gimmicks, and no commitment with tryCricket. It takes five minutes to sign up for a trial, and then we mail you a physical SIM card with two-day shipping at no charge. Once you get the SIM, you’ll get to experience our nationwide 5G network and award-winning customer service for 14 days on us. We work every day to make our customers smile, and we look forward to doing that for Android users that sign up with tryCricket.”
Once the SIM card arrives it's simply a case of switching it over from the one that is currently in use although if you have a dual-SIM phone you can use both SIMs without needing to physically switch. After that, you've got 14 days to try out the Cricket Wireless network to see if it meets your requirements without any obligation. You can choose to switch over to Cricket via the app and take your phone over with you or buy one from the carrier if necessary.
