It's been live in the US for some time now but Samsung's Self-Repair program has finally been made available in Europe. Unlike the US, however, Samsung hasn't partnered up with iFixit and is instead hosting the instructions and repair kits (from Rexio Care) on its own site.
The news means that Galaxy owners will be able to buy replacement parts and DIY repair kits in the following countries:
- Belguim
- France
- Germany
- Italy
- The Netherlands
- Poland
- Spain
- Sweden
- UK
“Samsung is working to extend the lifecycle of our devices to encourage users to experience the optimised performance of their Galaxy device for as long as possible,” said TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics. “We are committed to scaling access to our Self-Repair program around the world while improving the repairability of our products.”
Samsung is offering instruction guides for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S21, and Galaxy S22 series with replacement parts such as batteries, displays, rear glass panels, and USB-C charging port circuit boards, along with a number of parts for its Galaxy Book Pro laptop.
