Motorola Razr 40 Ultra

After all the leaks and rumors of the past month or so, Motorola has taken it upon itself to confirm that its new Razr 40 range of foldable smartphones will be unveiled on June 1. It’s believed that Motorola will announce a pair of foldable phones at the launch event which will apparently “Flip the Script”.

Motorola confirmed the date of the launch event via its Twitter account which also showed an image of two foldable devices which are thought to be the Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra, both of which are of the clamshell (or flip) design.

Last year’s Moto Razr wasn’t released in the US but it would appear that the Razr 40 series will be if Motorola US’s retweet is anything to go by. We hope it will come to the US so that fans of the clamshell design have something other than the Galaxy Z Flip 4 to choose from.

Leaked renders (courtesy of Evan Blass) have shown the Razr 40 Ultra to feature a much bigger cover display than its predecessor, with the cameras and flash being housed in large punch-hole cutouts, as shown in the image above. The vanilla Razr 40 on the other hand, has a smaller cover display than its sibling.

In terms of pricing, we’ll probably have to wait until the Razr 40 series launches on June 1st. One thing we do know is that we’ll be on the ground to cover the launch in person.
