You could be forgiven for thinking that it's April Fool's Day Part 2 but it really isn't, HTC is actually launching a new phone on May 18th. Really. The news comes directly from HTC who posted a teaser image on its Twitter account revealing the May 18th announcement.
The phone in question is called the U23 Pro 5G and it will reportedly be powered by a Snapdragon 7-series processor (likely the SD7Gen1) and sport 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage. An AMOLED display of unspecified resolution is also claimed. On the rear is said to be a 108MP main camera with OIS alongside 3 other sensors. A distinctly average 4,600mAh battery will keep the lights on, and the phone will launch running Android 13 out of the box.
From the images above (thanks to ptt.cc), the HTC U23 Pro 5G would appear to have a side-mounted fingerprint sensor as well as an audio jack and wireless charging.
While it's being announced on May 18th, we don't really expect the HTC U23 Pro 5G to be released in the US.
