Realme recently announced its new GT Neo 5 and GT3 handsets which feature the insane 240W charging speed that charges the battery to 100% in under 10 minutes, which is as speedy as it comes. Except it isn't, because Infinix has announced a new 110W wireless charging technology and a wired charging speed of 260W.
The two new charging technologies are 260W All-Round FastCharge and 110W Wireless All-Round FastCharge, both of which offer ‘flexible, safe, and smart fast-charging experiences'.
260W All-Round FastCharge
How fast does the 260W All-Round FastCharge get a battery to 100% I hear you ask. Infinix claims it will fully charge a 4,400mAh battery in just 7.5 minutes with a 25% charge in a single minute, which is bonkers. The 260W charging speed is accomplished thanks to breakthroughs in charging architecture, charger design, and charging cable.
Infinix says the battery will retain 90% of its capacity after 1,000 charging cycles. The charger uses triple GaN material which enables the production of smaller, more intelligent, and safe charging chargers while the cable is able to carry current up to 13A.
110W Wireless All-Round FastCharge
We've seen wireless charging speeds of up to 50W on phones such as the OnePlus 10 Pro and Oppo Find X5 Pro but Infinix's 110W wireless charging protocol promises to charge a 4,400mAh battery in just 16 minutes.
Using custom-made coils that overcome traditional architecture limitations and reduce coil internal resistance, the 110W wireless charging protocol is able to increase efficiency and reduce the temperature of the phone whilst charging.
To achieve the 100W charging speed a custom-made wireless charger with a dual-coil design is needed. The dual-coil design enables wireless charging to take place whether the phone is in portrait or landscape mode. A built-in fan at the charger's base aids heat dissipation which once again aids charging efficiency.
Infinix hasn't revealed when it will launch a device featuring these enhanced charging speeds, but we'll update the article when it does so.
