At $2,345, Lenovo's new ThinkSmart View Plus monitor isn't going to be an impulse buy but if you are looking for something more than the usual monitor it could be just the ticket when it goes on sale. Powered by Android and featuring support for Microsoft Teams for those video conferences, the device also packs an upgradable 4K webcam and a soundbar.

Aimed at “hot desking, phone booths, executive desks, and the home office”, the ThinkSmart View Plus brings flexibility and purpose to the workspace with stylus support and the ability to be connected to a PC like you would a normal monitor. Once a user is signed in, employees can enjoy smooth transitions from their home office to work office without a complicated set-up, all while having a customized Teams experience. Upon signing out, the user’s personal information is removed from the device – minimizing security risks.
Powered by Qualcomm's QCS8250 chipset, the device features two USB-A, a USB-C, HDMI, DisplayPort, an Ethernet port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The 27-inch display is a touchscreen panel, and it can also be Vesa mounted to the walls. As for the soundbar, it features dual 5W speakers and is detachable for increased ease of use. The webcam is capable of 4K resolution and includes functions such as auto-framing and AI security. The stand even has a built-in smartphone/tablet stand on its base.
As mentioned, with a $2,345 price tag Lenovo's ThinkSmart View Plus monitor isn't for everyone but it's a unique take on how a monitor can offer more features and functions than a standard display. The ThinkSmart View Plus will be available in select markets from mid-2023.
