We know it's only March 30th and that April Fool's jokes shouldn't be a thing yet, but today brought us the rather interesting Dyson Zone air-purifying headphones that pack in active noise cancelation as well as a 2-stage air purification system. It's bizarre, weird, and looks like something that Bane out of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy would wear, but yet it's either a real product or Dyson really jumped the shark for this year's April Fools day.
According to Dyson, the Zone headphones will filter city fumes and pollutants where you are, producing purified air for you to breathe. The visor will apparently channel a continuous stream of purified air to your nose and mouth without being in contact with your face. And when it comes to audio, the headphones are said to deliver a premium experience with high-fidelity sound and advanced active noise cancelation (ANC) on board.
Dyson says that it's worked on the development of the Zone headphones for over six years, with trials being held in Beijing to gain real-world data on how it performs. After 500 prototypes, Dyson has finally announced the Zone headphones/portable air purifier to the world, albeit without a hint of its eventual price. But let's not kid ourselves, this is Dyson which means that it will not be an affordable commodity. No doubt there will be replaceable filters to be purchased for the contraption, as well as other components that Dyson considers to be perishable.
If it does turn out to be an actual real-world product, would you wear the Dyson Zone headgear out in public? Let us know in the comments below.
