It's been a while since the tail-end of 2019 in fact since we've heard anything of substance from “eBuyNow”, a company that licensed the Motorola branding and launched the Moto 360 (3rd Gen). In the intervening time since then, “eBuyNow” has been merged with “CE Brands Inc” and according to an investor press release, there are plans underfoot to announce a new wearable called the Moto Watch 100 during what's left of 2021.
Mass product is apparently planned to begin during November, with the Moto Watch 100 being “designed for an entry-level price point” but with a “premium feeling.” Originally known as the “Moto G Smartwatch” which was once slated to be launched around June 2021, the Moto Watch 100 is said to do away with the crown that was present on the 3rg Gen Moto 360 watch in favor of two oval-shaped buttons on the right edge.
It's believed that the watch will run on Wear OS and although this isn't confirmed at the time of writing, with eBuyNow being an active Wear OS licensee and having partnered up with Qualcomm to produce premium wearables back in February, it seems like a safe bet to make.
If the current plan of starting mass production during November is held to, we should see further Moto Watch 100 leaks in the days and weeks ahead which will hopefully confirm the presence of Wear OS software.
