We've all seen these carrier maps showing the areas covered by their 5G network, but not all 5G is equal in terms of speed or availability. T-Mobile's 5G coverage map now shows different shades of well, magenta which depict which area has the best coverage and in which way.

When it comes to types of 5G coverage, the map shows a darker hue to signify ‘5G Ultra Capacity' areas, while the ‘5G Extended Range' shows up in lighter shades. Once you are outside the 5G Ultra Capacity area you'll be dropped down to slower 5G coverage or 4G/LTE and so on depending on what sort of signal your phone is receiving. T-Mobile's mid-range 5G is more prevalent and likely the most important type of 5G coverage thanks to its ability to bring high-speed data to large areas, as opposed to the ultra-fast 5G mmWave whose signal is basically just line of sight to the transmitter.
In case you were wondering, T-Mobile is the only carrier to have rolled out its mid-range 5G network so far with both AT&T and Verizon only likely to begin rolling out sometime during 2022. If you are with T-Mobile, how is your 5G coverage map looking?
