October 14th is the day when the OnePlus 8T will be officially unveiled with the brand seemingly intent on drip-feeding us tiny leaks on the phone's design and features during the run-up to the launch. This time, we've got something to ogle at in the form of a video showing off the glossy glass rear panel of the OnePlus 8T in its stunning AquaMarine Green colorway.
The OnePlus 8T's rear panel sports a new finish that consists of 7 layers of films that complement the high-gloss finish that, according to Pete Lau's Community forum post “takes advantage of diffuse reflection, a form of light refraction that scatters light in an expansive array of angles and directions, to produce a clean, gleaming surface that effectively mitigates the buildup of fingerprints”.
The process of exploring the various mixes of CMFs (color, material, and finish) took 4 months, and maintains a thin yet sturdy profile.
Cutting through the marketing speak, there's no denying the stunning effect of the new finish, the AquaMarine Green color is dazzling to the eyes even in the teaser video.
Already confirmed to feature a 120Hz Fluid Display of the flat sort (no curved edges) and running Android 11 out of the box, the OnePlus 8T is rumored to sport 65W charging and a new camera sensor, which according to the camera housing shown in the official image, is of the 48MP variety. We have less than a week to wait until all the rumors are confirmed or debunked, are you excited about the OnePlus 8T?
