[Updated with pricing] Everything you need to know about Samsung’s Galaxy S20 FE ahead of its September 23rd launch

We've been hearing good things about Samsung's soon-to-be-released Galaxy S20 FE, a phone that is more intriguing with every single leak, of which there have been a ton. From spec sheets to images of the phone being handled in the wild to retail listings, the Galaxy S20 FE is all but official already ahead of its September 23rd launch date.

Updated September 23rd: European pricing for the Galaxy S20 FE has come to light via WinFuture with the 4G (Exynos) variant said to cost €699. The Snapdragon 865-powered 5G model will cost €799, which may be worth the extra cost just to avoid the Exynos 990 processor. As per normal, there will be price fluctuations according to each region's tax structures, but if the leaked prices are accurate, the Galaxy S20 FE will undercut the regular Galaxy S20, though it's important to remember that the Fan Edition's cameras aren't as capable.

In terms of hardware, thanks to WinFuture we already know what lays beneath the display of the handset with the 5G variant, in particular, a welcome addition to the European market seeing as it will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 processor instead of the Exynos 990 that powers the 4G variant.

In many respects, the Galaxy S20 FE is shaping up to be the best mix of affordability v flagship hardware available from Samsung, other than perhaps being a little low on the RAM side of things, making do with 6GB.

Critics of curved displays will be glad to learn that the Galaxy S20 FE has a flat display, under which a display sensor is situated. And, unlike the regular Galaxy Note 20, the S20 FE's display has a 120Hz refresh rate.

Unusually for Samsung, the Galaxy S20 FE will also come in a variety of colors that don't consist of black, dark grey/blue, and gold. Instead, we've got bright, pastel-ish colors such as White, Blue, Orange, Lavender, Green, and Red, the last four are usually only rolled out by Samsung to boost sales when a handset has been on sale a couple of months.

While the 4G and 5G models differ in terms of the processor used, in all other aspects they are the same. It's thought that both the 4G and 5G variants of the Galaxy S20 FE will be more affordable than the Galaxy Note 20, and we'll find out on September 23rd when Samsung makes the official announcement.
