After weeks of rumors and leaks, it seems that the affordable OnePlus Nord could launch on July 21st during an online-only launch that will include an AR experience. It’s going ahead later in July than first thought, with details having been posted on Twitter via a well-known leaker who pulled the post shortly afterward.

Luckily, the XDA managed to screenshot the tweet, as shown above, showing the press materials confirming the July 21st launch date and the “…world’s first AR smartphone launch.” The pictured invite reveals the URL address where the OnePlus Nord AR experience will be found on the launch day – nord.oneplus.com/NordAR, which just has a “coming soon” notice showing for the moment.
Considering that the Nord is a midrange device coming in at less than $500, OnePlus sure is ramping up the hype for the 5G capable handset that is believed to run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 765 chipset.
Are you looking forward to the OnePlus Nord? Or, like some, are you thinking that it may just be a rebadged version of the admittedly decent Find X2 Lite from its cousin brand, OPPO?
