Xiaomi's current MIUI 11 Android interface is barely six months old but the company is already teasing its successor with its upgraded dark mode, and the phone that will debut the software.
Xiaomi's MIUI Android skin has been divisive over the years, but alongside Samsung and other manufacturers their offering has improved drastically in the last few and is now a favourite of many (including myself), with the latest and greatest version currently sitting at MIUI 11 on Android 10. Fans love MIUI for many reasons, including a suite of genuinely great apps far superior to most alternatives including from Google, a system-wide dark mode, and a host of wonderful little improvements to UX.
Barely over half a year on from MIUI 11's release, though, and Xiaomi is already teasing their latest upgrade's launch in only a few days – on April 27th; MIUI 12:

MIUI 12 is expected to follow in the steps of MIUI 11 in being a refinement of the groundwork laid out in MIUI 10 rather than a drastic redesign as MIUI 10 was, and while we will have to wait until Monday to hear all about its features, Xiaomi has already confirmed an improved system dark mode is on the way, using various features including dynamic-width fonts, adaptive contrast, and various other methods all to improve the experience:

Xiaomi has also teased a phone announcement for the same event – the Mi 10 ‘Youth Edition', expected to be a rebranded Mi 10 Lite, with 5G capabilities a quad-camera array on the rear including 50x hybrid zoom will launch alongside the latest software and will presumably be the first to debut it:

While not frothing at the mouth at the prospect of a new MIUI 12 update (due to how great MIUI 11 is already), I am excited to see just what improvements and new features Xiaomi has been cooking up, and how much they may be able to improve battery life even further over the already incredible battery management in MIUI 11 on my Mi 9T.
Guess we'll all have to wait a few more days.
