Huawei's Developer Conference kicked off with the big news that its homegrown operating system is called HarmonyOS, as covered by Oscar here. As interesting HarmonyOS is, though, Huawei handset owners will be more excited that the company also revealed when we could expect the Android Q/EMUI 10/Magic OS 3.0 beta program to begin.

Huawei was rather stingy with regards to what new features we can expect EMUI 10 to deliver but they did say that there will be a system-wide dark mode present. This isn't terribly new information because we've known for months that Google is planning on including the feature in Android Q and Huawei already provided a dark mode option on handsets with OLED panels. But, this does mean that regardless of the phone having an LCD or OLED display, there will be a system-wide dark mode available.

(16/08/19) Update: My Drivers has posted a timeline stating when and which Huawei handsets will receive the EMUI 10 and equivalent Magic UI 3.0 updates. The Mate 20, 20 Pro, 20 X (and likely the 5G version as well), and the Porsche Design Mate 20 RS are scheduled for EMUI 10 betas to begin by the end of September. Magic UI 3.0 betas are also slated for the Honor 20, 20 Pro, View 20, and Magic 2 handsets in September as well. We'll update the post continuously as more information becomes available.
(12/09/19) Update: Huawei reveals EMUI 10 rollout timeline

Huawei announced during IFA 2019 when we can expect EMUI 10 to begin rolling out to current devices. While the Mate 30 Pro will definitely launch running Android 10 with EMUI 10 on top, a list of at least 30 devices will begin receiving the update from this month onwards. The P30 series is the first to receive EMUI 10, with the update rolling out in the form of a beta program that can be signed up to via Huawei's HiCare app, with a stable build being released during November.
December sees EMUI 10 rolling out to the Mate 20 series as well as the Honor 20 series of smartphones in the form of Magic OS. The Mate 10 series, P30 Lite, and the P20 series of smartphones should begin getting the update from around March 2020 and to a bunch of other Huawei/Honor smartphones during the second quarter.
