Cricket, making an appearance at CTIA this year, announced a couple of devices they have in the works to be released “very soon” (Q2). The company introduced two handsets that look to be promising in the up and coming year for the company. First up to bat, the Huawei Ascend 2, a pretty descent successor to the original Ascend which we saw released last year. The device will tout an HVGA screen (same as the original Ascend) however, the company is looking to keep the price point along the same lines as the original model, coming in at $150.00. In addition, the device will sport an updated camera coming in at 5MP from the previous 3.2MP along with an 800 MHz CPU.
Next on the smartphone arsenal list is the Samsung Indulge, running on Cricket's standard 3G bands, as the company currently does not have an LTE network. The Indulge also sports an HVGA screen and comes with a bit of a hefty price tag coming in at around $350 for a new 2 yr agreement. I had the addendum it was a good phone yes the processor was a bit slow u could tell only during games but as far as everything else it was really cool and the price was great. I bought the indulge the price was ridiculous and I just dropped it and the screen cracked I am still using right now to type this but I am going to have to buy.a new one boost mob has androids now and they are cheaper never had any issues when I was with them cricket on thee hand is terrible customer service.
Guess Im coming in from a different angle. But I have an LG Optimus with T-mobile pretty happy with the phone. The service/customer service is okay I guess. But I pay $110-130 a month for unlimted everything FOR ONE LINE…..dosn’t that sound a bit much? ILL ANSWER THAT…HECK YEAH IT’S TWO MUCH. Not to metion when the two companies finally do merge the prices are going up. So the super cool iphone will be available to you but your bill will cost you your first born. ;-) I’ve had an iphone before and the only thing that makes the phone cool is the apps that you download/pay for. SOOOOOO CRICKET/HUAWEI ASCEND 2 HERE I COME!

Ray, agree, Zio was not a good phone, I had it for 6 months. I replaced it with Huawei Ascend, this is a great phone (for the money), a little slow but it hasn’t given me trouble like the Zio. Don’t worry about the contract, that was a mistake by the reviewer, Cricket is contract-less. Samsung Indulge should be a very good phone, it has a 1 MHZ processor and 2.2 Android, that should give it pretty decent speed.
Also cricket doesn’t have 2 year agreements

BS, a two year agreement on the samsung indulge?! I’ve been with Cricket for about a minute now, and i have the kyocera zio. But if they make me sign a 2-year contract with their crappy service, I guess im going to have to find some better company. I heard the buyout of t-mobile wont happen until about the end of the year, so if cricket makes me sign an “agreement”, imma sign up with tmobile.
i am really excited about the ascend 2 i am getting ready to switch to cricket and i cant wait for that phone to be released please post release date and price as soon as it is confirmed
