Netflix generally isn't very helpful when you're trying to get things done, but now they're working on a new pop-up player for your computer that will make productivity even harder.
This player reportedly worked on Google Chrome on a Mac and allows a window to float on top of your other windows and activities to keep playing whatever show or movie you might be watching.
Now, to be clear, this feature isn't completely new; MacOS supports picture-in-picture on Safari already, and the Netflix app on Windows can do a floating window, too. But this new development makes it a little more ubiquitous across Netflix's web player, which means you'll be able to use it with fewer restrictions. Very helpful for anyone that primarily uses a web browser instead of dedicated apps, which can include lower powered machines that simply don't need loads of programs installed.
Netflix confirmed they're test driving this right now, so expect it to become an official feature sooner rather than later.
