Are your hands dirty? Have you burned you fingerprints off to hide your life of crime? Did you simply forget your fingerprints at home? If anything is keeping you from using the biometric security on your Nokia 9, there's a pretty cool trick where you can use a piece of chewing gum on the in-display fingerprint scanner to unlock your phone, super easy.
Nope, not a late April Fool's joke, either. The gum wasn't even chewed.
This incredibly glaring security hole was noticed on Twitter by @decodedpixel, who posted a video of the phone going through its regular unlock motions, then being unlocked by putting a pack of gum on the screen, then with someone else's fingerprint. In-display fingerprint scanners seem a little less secure anyway, but at this point the phone just seems like it's checking for pressure and unlocking for just about anything. Big yikes.
You can check out the video below, which may or may convince you to go back to a more secure PIN or password for your lock screen. Sometimes you just need that reminder that it's hard for biometric security to truly match a tough passcode.
