Disney's Netflix killer is coming later this year, and it's cheap 4

Disney has announced some details about its upcoming streaming service, Disney+, and it looks like it's as close to a Netflix killer as The Mouse could possibly hope for. There's an absolute ton of stuff here, ranging from all of Disney's signature kid's programming, Marvel and Star Wars movies, and more, plus some other stuff from under their Fox content umbrella.

So when can you get it, and how much will it be?

Disney's getting aggressive here, charging just $6.99 per month or $69.99 annually for Disney+. Assuming you can stream everything in 4K HDR for that price, that's undercutting Netflix hard. It's rolling out in November of this year, too, so Netflix doesn't have a ton of time to react, either.

For offline users, Disney also reassures users that they'll be able to download literally everything on the service to be viewed without an internet connection, so long as you stay an active subscriber.

This service isn't all about Disney's back catalog, either. They're spending a big chunk of change on original content, specifically from the Star Wars and Marvel universes, so there's going to be a little bit of something in the service that almost anyone can enjoy. Disney doesn't expect it to be profitable at first, but they're willing to ride it out and build a service that's every bit as ubiquitous as Netflix.
