Huawei is looking to make 2019 a year full of crazy innovations, and they've already started on the right foot with the folding Mate X. The P30 Pro will be one of their next devices, and it's expected to pack in a ton of camera features that will stand out from an incredibly crowded smartphone market.
The P30 Pro will reportedly use a four camera system, and Huawei's VP of Global Product Marketing, Clement Wong, confirmed that the phone would do things to turn the smartphone camera game on its head. A picture showed the device snapping photos of the moon in incredible detail (for a phone) which seems like the phone will manage a crazy amount of optical zoom, with rumors pointing at a 10x periscope-style zoom lens.
Wong also mentioned that it was something that no one else had done before, and, well, a 10x zoom in a smartphone camera is definitely new ground.
The other lenses on the P30 Pro will reportedly handle excellent night-time shots as well, so it's safe to bet on this phone being one of the best shooters of the year, especially with hardware additions. Google always does a killer job with the camera software with the Pixel line, but at some point hardware is just going to bring something to the table that your software developers can't match.
